WHY THE NAME OPEN GATE?
The name Open Gate has multiple meanings. Obviously we're attempting to open the gate to new talent but it's also a technical term originating in film cinematography. It's now used when referring to digital cameras.
Open Gate filming means using the whole readout of a camera's sensor and allows for content to be captured in 6K or 8K in a 4:3 or 3:2 aspect ratio. This means in post production you can easily reframe a shot and punch in allowing a single camera to offer multiple angles from one shot. Also square social media videos can easily be pulled from any sequence using the full height of the sensor - negating to the need to reshoot and reframe specifically for social content.
